The artifact is an HP 34401a, a 6½ digit DMM.
The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of a 6.5 digit Digital Multifunction Meter.
This program is suitable for participants who source these electrical quantities and/or calibrate multimeters, whose uncertainties are not significantly smaller than the typical reference uncertainties, and who calculate their uncertainties per the method of the ISO GUM. This program involves sourcing DC Volts; DC Current; Resistance; AC Volts; AC Current; Capacitance and Frequency using suitable lab equipment.
