The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of torque wrenches.
The test consists of 3 torque wrenches with test points in the range of 200 in·lb to 150 ft·lb. Reference uncertainties are typically on the order of 0.5% to 1.5% of reading. This program is suitable for participants who calibrate torque wrenches, whose uncertainties are not significantly smaller than the typical reference uncertainties, and who calculate their uncertainties per the method of the ISO GUM.
